JCT contracts are one of the most widely used standard form contracts within the building and construction industry.  This eight week course will provide attendees with the knowledge they need to administer and deliver projects effectively using the JCT suite of contracts.

The course will provide practical knowledge of the JCT suite of contracts and relevant law.

It is designed for parties to a construction contract including employers, architects, contract administrators, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.

Any one who is involved in the procurement, administration and/or delivery of projects under JCT contracts, and wishes to develop their understanding and key commercial skills necessary for management would also benefit from attending.

Topics covered:

  • Introduction to JCT, covering: The JCT Forms; Procurement; and the Anatomy and Basic Principles of the JCT
  • General Obligations, Roles and Responsibilities under the JCT
  • Obligations Towards Design, Quality and Defects
  • Payment, Variations and Suspension
  • Claims for Extension of Time, Liquidated Damages, Delay Analysis and Concurrant Delay
  • Claims for Money
  • Insurance, Collateral Warranties, Bonds, Guarantees and Fluctuation Provisions
  • Termination, Insolvency and Dispute Resolution

Dates

This is an eight week online course, held weekly, each Thursday evening, commencing 10 April 2025 and ending 29 May 2025.

Each webinar starts at 6pm and finishes at 8:00pm.
