JCT Contract Management Course

JCT contracts are some of the most recognisable standard form contracts used within the building and construction industry.  This unique 6-week course is designed to give attendees the vital knowledge they need to effectively administer and deliver projects using the JCT suite of contracts.

The course will provide practical knowledge of the JCT Suite of Contracts and relevant law with an ultimate aim of enabling attendees to make their JCT contracts more successful.

It is designed for construction or legal professionals (employers, architects, contract administrators, contractors and subcontractors) that are in any way involved in the procurement, administration and/or delivery of projects under JCT contracts, and wish to develop their understanding and key commercial skills necessary for management.

Topics covered:

A handbook and syllabus will be sent to all delegates, including timetables, recommended reading, as well as case law to review before the first seminar. Pre-reading and homework assignments will be given each week to further consolidate the content delivered by our experienced lecturers.

  • Introduction to JCT, covering: Procuring and Tendering under JCT; Setting up the Contract; Insurances, Bonds and Collateral Warranties; and General Obligations
  • Design Liability, Subcontracting and using Specialists
  • Contract Administration: Payment
  • Contract Administration: Claims for Extension of Time
  • Contract Administration: Claims for Loss and Expense
  • Contract Administration: Termination, Insolvency and Dispute Resolution

This is a six week course, held weekly, each Wednesday evening, commencing 26 February 2020 and ending 1 April 2020.

Quigg Golden offers ongoing support throughout the duration of the course.

Each seminar starts at 6pm and finishes at 8:30pm.

Fee

£450.00 plus VAT per delegate

Please note that you will be required to pay a deposit of £50 on initial booking. The remainder of the cost will be invoiced 30 days before commencement of the course.
