In this half day workshop, delegates will gain hands-on experience in how to correctly assess compensation events under the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and the NEC Engineering and Construction Subcontract (ECS).
The session will make use of worked examples– delegates will be shown how to correctly navigate the relevant contractual provisions required to correctly assess various different types of compensation event.
The following topics will be covered in the workshop:
Relevant extracts from the contract will be provided, but we highly recommend that delegates bring a full copy of the ECC or ECS along with them so they can be marked up with relevant examples.

William Brown is a Senior Associate at Quigg Golden, a leading construction and procurement law firm with offices in London, Dublin and Belfast.
William originally qualified as a civil engineer before obtaining his legal qualifications. He now specialises in construction law and regularly provides practical legal advice to a wide range of clients including public sector bodies, main contractors and subcontractors.
William has extensive experience with the NEC suite of contracts and is widely recognised throughout the UK and Ireland for his ability to deliver expert advice and training on the subject. William is also a lecturer in construction law and dispute resolution at Queen’s University Belfast.
