Download Publication
As amended, the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, also known as the Construction Act or HGCRA, sets out a number of important legislative approaches to construction contracts, payments, and disputes.
This includes:
- The definition of a “construction contract” in UK law;
- The right to adjudication under a construction contract;
- The right to payment by instalments, stage payments or other periodic payments under a construction contract;
- The right to be informed of amounts due under a construction contract, or any amounts to be withheld; and
- The right to suspend performance for non-payment.
